The hydrogen energy research at the Electrical Energy Laboratory (EELAB) focuses at the integration of hydrogen and power-to-X installations in the electric power system, e.g., by the provision of ancillary services.
The hydrogen research at EELAB is thus closely linked to the topic of flexibility and control in power systems. With respect to production of hydrogen, mainly electrolysis based on renewable electricity is considered (green hydrogen), such that there is also a natural link with the renewable energy research.
